Luke Kettlewell

Lovely words for our August recognition winner, Luke Kettlewell! I wanted to take a moment to recognise someone who has been an incredible source of support throughout my time in office as Mayor.

Luke has served as the Mayor's Attendant for the past 15 years, and from May 2024 to May 2025, he was my attendant during my year as Mayor. He also supported me throughout my time as Deputy Mayor from 2023 to 2024. His commitment to the Mayoralty has been nothing short of exceptional. His knowledge of Wrexham, its people, and Mayoral protocol is second to none. Wrexham County Borough Council is incredibly fortunate to have someone of his dedication, professionalism and experience. Luke is known and respected across the Borough. He is held in the highest regard by past Mayors, colleagues and residents alike, and nothing is ever too much trouble for him. On a personal note, he looked after both myself and my Consort with such kindness, care and consideration throughout the year. As a lady in my senior years, his support and thoughtfulness never went unnoticed. He is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. It really is time that Luke received the recognition he so richly deserves. Thank you, Luke, for everything you do, not just for the Mayor, but for Wrexham. You are truly one of a kind. Congratulations Luke!
