Wrexham Healthcare Choir

June 2025

Wrexham Healthcare Choir

The Choir consists of healthcare workers from Wrexham Maelor Hospital, doctors, nurses, matrons, specialist, pharmacists, operational managers and surrounding community sites. Since the choir’s inception in May 2024, it has grown from 9 to over 50 plus members. The purpose of the choir is to support the wellbeing of staff members through singing.
The choir rehearses weekly, after work on a Thursday. Feedback from members is that it has been truly life changing and supported them to remain well and continue to do their jobs with newfound energy.
The choir has a number of upcoming performances in the local area, which members have committed to and will be giving up their time for free, as they strongly believe in the choir’s purpose and the positive impact it has when they perform together for others.
The choir continues to grow from strength to strength and confidence and is committed to sharing the message of promoting wellbeing for NHS workers, in the hope other organisations will follow in its footsteps.
The many events the choir have now performed at include the Wrexham Christmas lights switch on in 2024, and the ITU Memorial service at St Giles Church, Wrexham.
Fabulous initiative, helping so many people in so many ways.
