Chariotts

Chariotts was established in 1995 to assist people who have difficulty in using public transport, they provide specialist transport to Wrexham residents, who have difficulty in accessing the usual modes of transport, due to either mobility or sensory issues.

The organisation started with three vehicles and gradually increased to nine just before Covid, after Covid it went down to seven vehicles.

There are two fulltime staff and 20 volunteer drivers, who volunteer to drive one or two days per week. All vehicles are wheelchair accessible. Without Chariotts many of their clients would struggle to attend hospital and GP appointments, be able to go grocery shopping, attend respite/ activity events, or social events.

Staying connected with the community is crucial for mental and emotional well-being and maintaining their independence is vitally important to many clients who can no longer drive.

Families can also trust a reliable service for their loved ones.

The volunteer drivers feedback how rewarding and satisfying the work is, knowing that by giving up their time they are making a difference.

Chariotts are always looking for volunteer drivers, please contact the team there on 01978 312888 if you are interested in getting involved.
