Andrew Ruscoe

June Award

Andrew Ruscoe
This month we are excited to recognise Andrew Ruscoe for the hard work he does as founder member, chairman, manager, fundraiser, social media advertiser and coach of F C United of Wrexham, volunteering on average 38 hours per week!
Founded in 202 F C United of Wrexham are a non-profit making sports organisation, that engages young people, in the sports of futsal and football. The club prides itself on supporting those with mental health issues, aims to tackle sedentary lifestyles, develop people’s transferrable employability skills, support life skills and create platforms for players to progress into the professional and semi-professional realms of football and futsal, via the club’s support.
The club has a 7 year plan, for the futsal section to hopefully make it into the UEFA Futsal Champions League, which would create life changing opportunities and a 20 year plan of reaching the J D Cymru Premier in Football.
The club has already produced players who have gone on to play for Wrexham AFC, Crewe Alexandra, Manchester City, Prestatyn Town, Bala Town and Gresford Athletic.
It has also become a Cymru Club of the year runner up, for the Football v Homophobic in 2022.
The club is inclusive and open to anyone who wants to get involved, either playing, coaching, or anything else to help run the club at amateur level. Andrew and the club pride themselves on giving back to the community, helping those who need support with things like CV’s and supporting those who may be isolated and suffering with their mental health.
Andrew tells us that his main goal is to give people of Wrexham opportunities that he never had, bring outside funding to the area, give back to the community and make people happy.
Well done Andrew, we love this!
