Mannie Thomas (17 years old) has been a Wrexham fan since 2012 and a season ticket holder in the Tech end coming up to 9 years.

His older brother William and his friends had the idea of creating a more established atmosphere in the stadium, as a fanatical fan culture was increasing. Mannie and William have always been passionate and fanatic with their support for Wrexham and as their idea was accepted at Wrexham by the supporters trust William was able to get a drum and played it until 2017 when he decided Mannie should have a go.

This was at the Dagenham game and Mannie was just 11, the fan group let him have a little trial for a few games and ever since he’s been playing the drum via the Wrexham 12th man group following Wrexham up and down the country with the drum alongside.

Mannie's other big interest is Athletics which he is now in his second season for Wrexham and recently competed for North Wales.

Two weeks ago he won the U20 100 meters so is now the North Wales champion.

Mannie was also nominated to take part in a photo documentary for Wrexham fans by photographer Carwyn Rhys Jones, pictures were displayed outside the Wrexham Museum with other fans.

Before leaving school BBC Wales interviewed Mannie about his involvement at Wrexham with the drum, they came to the school.

Mannie now works at Hickory’s in Wrexham who are fully supportive with the drum and give him every Saturday off so he can conduct the crowd and build the atmosphere they are also extremely supportive with his Athletics and are always interested in his performance.
